Ridgeback Lighting Offers High Performance, Made in USA LED Lighting for a Emergency Backup and Egress Applications

Ridgeback Lighting, a California based lighting company, has made a name innovating and creating unique products for specific industries and problem-solving technology for their customers. Today, Ridgeback Lighting is announcing the launch of their new EBL series, an emergency backup and egress LED lighting product. The new light will surface mount the same locations a traditional emergency battery backup light would but without the battery.

The new technology allows the product to see cold to warm temperatures without the self-discharging shortcomings of traditional battery technologies. This simplifies stocking extra batteries on deployment, eliminates routine maintenance, and reduces weight in deployable shelters. Direct ROI investment is short with no replacing of batteries and no labor to replace them and indirectly in fuel cost with reduced weight.

Suitable for projects and applications with extreme temperatures where egress lighting is needed. It features universal AC input so it can be used interchangeably on 120VAC 60Hz USA applications and European 230VAC or 240VAC 50Hz systems. It can even take in AC 400Hz for certain aircraft systems. Most suitable applications include configurable ISO containers on bulkheads on ships but can be used anywhere emergency lighting is needed.

With the onset of LEDs there hasn’t been much change to egress lighting. Lead acid and nickel batteries may sometimes be paired with LED but are often still used with incandescent. This is finally a product on the cutting edge of technology.
