EarlyBirds Crosses 2 Million Innovators and Launches New Branding

Nov 1, 2021

November 01, 2021 - /PressAdvantage/ - Australia based EarlyBirds is delighted to share that they recently crossed the 2 million plus threshold for Innovators on their platform. In celebration of this milestone and the world-changing projects the platform has already witnessed since its inception, EarlyBirds is reaching out to share more insight on their mission and values. With this, EarlyBirds has also launched its new branding, check their website https://earlybirds.io to know more.

Innovators make up one third of the platform’s unique method of combining disruptive solutions from various fields into a cohesive whole (with the purpose of supporting innovation across the board). Innovators, as EarlyBirds explains, includes startup, scaleup and mature companies who take real world problems and develop solutions. The EarlyBirds platform allows Innovators from an incredibly diverse variety of fields and specialisations to offer their innovative solutions to others in need. In some cases, Innovators may have already developed solutions for problems they identified on their own, and interested parties who search the marketplace will be able to find these solutions quickly. Should the solution in question need to be customised, the two parties can negotiate for this as well.

Conversely, Innovators may simply offer their capabilities, displaying a portfolio of their capabilities on the platform and browsing through the challenges other members have posted. Here, they can offer their skills to develop a solution from scratch if one does not already exist. EarlyBirds simply exists to make it easier for these parties to find each other and connect via a dedicated medium.

EarlyBirds consists of more than Innovators, however. Their membership also includes those the platform identifies as Early Adopters and Subject Matter Experts or Consultants (SMEs). Early Adopters may be considered the counterpart to Innovators. This is due to the fact that Early Adopters are the people and organizations who decide to place their trust in the capabilities of the platform’s Innovators. Early Adopters are the ones who also bring fascinating array of business and technical challenges to solve.

Intriguing though these problems may be, EarlyBirds is quick to point out that many of the challenges their Innovators are tackling today will likely have a great impact on the shape of the world tomorrow. From new green energy systems to strategies on sustainable growth, the platform is home to many projects and opportunities that can potentially lead to a paradigm shift in their respective industries once realised. There are immediate advantages as well — EarlyBirds explains that many of their Early Adopters approach Innovators for help reducing costs, improving efficiency and building better customer solutions, all of which can have a demonstrable impact on a business’ current operations, not just their plans for the future.

EarlyBirds often refers to ‘actionable innovation’ in this context, which is innovation that can be put into practice today. The goal of the platform is to foster a community that disrupts the industries they work in and ushers in new technologies that offer benefits to all parties involved.

The platform acknowledges that this is a monumental task, and building a global membership of like-minded, forward-thinking participants is not without its obstacles. Early on in its inception, the EarlyBirds team realised that additional expertise would be needed to ensure that all coordination between Early Adopters and Innovators would always remain on track. EarlyBirds enables parties from vastly different backgrounds, fields and industries to interact with each other, so there are certain situations where a gap will exist between two partners simply as a result of their divergent specialties. To address this, the platform has a third type of member: Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

An SME’s goal is to facilitate the relationship between an Innovator and Early Adopter, particularly if they are collaborating on a project that requires a multidisciplinary approach. SMEs work closely with Early Adopters to help them define a challenge or opportunity then identify which Innovators would contribute most to their project at any given time. This guidance is an ongoing process and as a project matures, so too will the SME’s recommendations.

The platform is particularly excited about their recent 2M plus Innovator milestone because this represents a vast pool of innovation capability for Early Adopters and SMEs to get involved with. The more Innovators standing by to show the world what they can do, EarlyBirds says, the more likely it is that their efforts will bear disruptive solutions that propel their respective industries forward.

Earlybirds.io offers its members a community that understands what they need and actively works with them to bring their vision to light. Tomorrow’s solutions are currently being developed through the EarlyBirds platform, and interested parties are invited to sign up today to make their own contributions or seek out others who can help them achieve their own goals.

Raising connected kids

For many parents today, handing a child a first mobile phone feels like a milestone wrapped in mixed emotions. On one hand, it offers reassurance. A quick message after school, a call during an emergency or an easier way to coordinate family schedules can provide peace of mind. On the other, it opens the door to a digital world children are navigating at increasingly younger ages. As online learning, messaging, streaming and gaming become part of everyday childhood, parents face an important question: How can they give their children the independence they need while still providing proper guidance? The answer may lie not in limiting technology altogether, but in introducing it thoughtfully and building healthy digital habits together. Children need to understand that having a mobile phone comes with responsibilities, from managing their data and screen time to choosing appropriate content and communicating safely online. Parents, meanwhile, need practical ways to remain involved without constantly hovering over their children’s digital activities. One option available to families is Globe’s GPlan Junior, a postpaid line designed for dependents ages 7 to 20. Offered as an additional line under an eligible Globe Postpaid plan, it allows parents or legal guardians to manage their child’s connectivity while giving young users room to communicate, learn and access age-appropriate digital experiences. The plan includes unlimited calls and texts, 100 minutes of landline calls and 10GB of all-access data with rollover and data-swap features. It also provides access to Messenger Kids and Mobile Legends, as well as selected video, social and gaming apps. Families can choose one app from each category, with options including YouTube Kids, Netflix, Disney+, Viu, Viber, WhatsApp, Roblox, Discord, PUBG and Call of Duty. Through the GlobeOne app, parents can monitor data usage, check remaining allocations, manage Data Swap options and choose their child’s unlimited apps. A parent-managed postpaid account also removes the need to regularly reload credits or keep track of expiring promotions. More importantly, such tools can become starting points for conversations about responsible technology use instead of serving merely as restrictions. “As children become more connected, parents are looking for solutions that keep up with their family’s evolving needs,” said Jo Anne Illescas-Pique, senior director for Globe Postpaid. Digital responsibility can also extend to money management. Eligible GPlan Junior subscribers who successfully register for GCash Jr. may receive GCash vouchers, providing parents with another opportunity to teach their children how to save, spend and manage digital money within a supervised environment.

PH earns first Two Michelin Keys as nine hotels make 2026 list

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has earned its first-ever Two Michelin Key hotel distinctions, with nine properties recognized in the 2026 Michelin Guide hotel selection. El Nido Resorts Lagen Island in Palawan and Raffles Makati received Two Michelin Keys, marking them as the first Philippine properties to reach the distinction, which the Michelin Guide describes as an “exceptional stay.” Raffles Makati was promoted from One Key, while El Nido Resorts Lagen Island entered the selection with Two Keys. The recognition brings the country's total to nine Michelin Key hotels for 2026, up from five properties in the previous selection. El Nido Resorts Lagen Island was recognized for its location within a forested cove surrounded by limestone cliffs, as well as its use of Filipino materials and craftsmanship, and its environmental practices. Raffles Makati was cited for its all-suite accommodations, private butler service and intimate residential atmosphere. Four properties also received their first One Michelin Key: Nustar Hotel Cebu in Cebu City, El Nido Resorts Pangulasian Island in Palawan, Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City, and Manami Resort in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental. Three hotels retained their One Michelin Key distinctions from the previous selection: Nay Palad Hideaway in Siargao, Fairmont Makati, and Amanpulo in Palawan. Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay welcomed the recognition in a statement saying, “This recognition reflects the continued growth of Philippine hospitality and the dedication of our tourism stakeholders in creating exceptional experiences for travelers from around the world.” She also said the recognition could help strengthen the country's positioning as a destination offering different types of high-end accommodations, from island resorts to hotels in urban centers. “Beyond the recognition itself, we see this as an opportunity to further position the Philippines as a destination where travelers can find exceptional stays, from our island resorts to our urban hotels, all anchored on the warmth of Filipino hospitality,” she added. The Michelin Key is the hotel counterpart of the Michelin Star for restaurants. Hotels are assessed by Michelin Guide inspectors using five criteria: architecture and interior design; quality and consistency of service; overall personality and character; value for the price; and the property's contribution to its neighborhood or setting. A One Michelin Key represents a “very special stay,” while Two Michelin Keys indicate an “exceptional stay.” Three Michelin Keys, the highest distinction, represent an “extraordinary stay.” The 2026 global selection includes 2,832 Michelin Key hotels across 79 countries, with 657 receiving Two Keys and 2,020 receiving One Key. For the Philippines, Angara-Mathay said the growing number of recognized properties also contributes to strengthening the country's tourism brand. “Every recognition earned by our tourism stakeholders contributes to a stronger Philippine tourism brand. As we continue to welcome more travelers, we will likewise continue working with our partners in the industry to further elevate the quality of Philippine hospitality,” the Tourism chief added.
