Capitalism.com Announces Winners of $5,000 Scholarship for Start-Up Businesses

Capitalism.com reveals the winners of the Million Dollar Brands scholarship contest. Five winning entrepreneurs receive a $5,000 scholarship to kick off their new brands.

Capitalism.com, an Austin-based media company, is announcing the five winners of the $5,000 prize for its scholarship contest. Hundreds of students of the company’s Million Dollar Brands course submitted their brands for consideration in the hopes of receiving a share of the $25,000 fund designed to help them grow their businesses.

Applicants for the scholarships submitted videos, introducing their brands and products and sharing their stories. The videos were then up for public voting, narrowed down to 34 finalists, and finally, the Capitalism.com team selected five winners.

“There were many excellent applications for this Million Dollar Brands Scholarship,” said Ryan Moran, owner and founder of Capitalism.com. “These are true winners who cast their visions, did the work, and are on their way to creating change in the world, and we are thrilled to be able to support them in their efforts.”

Recipients of the $5,000 scholarship are Biofy, Blue Smoke BBQ, Neuu, Candy Hackers, and Sexy AFter. With the check comes the opportunity to work directly with Moran and his team to grow their businesses.

“While the $5,000 will be a great start to kick-off their brands, we didn’t want to stop there,” said Moran. “For the winners who are ready to go full-throttle, we are willing to work with them individually to leverage our exposure and advice to help each winner expand their businesses to seven figures and beyond.”

According to Moran, the scholarship is an investment in entrepreneurs who are dedicated to creating change in the world, which is a core mission of Capitalism.com. As students of the Million Dollar Brands course, the scholarship recipients went from having no product, no group in mind to serve, and no idea about the kind of business they would start to developing all of those crucial elements in a short period of time.
