From Protecting Ecosystems to Supporting Public Safety: OMODA & JAECOO Creates Local Value Through Global Community Initiatives

Oct 16, 2026

Wuhu, October 16, 2026 -- As automotive brands expand globally, globalisation is about more than the number of markets they enter or users they serve. It is also about becoming part of local society and creating lasting value for communities. As OMODA & JAECOO continues to expand its global presence, it is turning its commitment to social responsibility into concrete action. From ecosystem conservation along Spain’s Mediterranean coast and water rescue support along Poland’s coastline to children’s education in Vietnam and disaster relief in Thailand, the brand is responding to the specific needs of each market. Working with international non-profit organisations and local partners, OMODA & JAECOO is connecting global resources with local action, exploring ways for brand growth and social value to advance together.

A Global Perspective with Local Engagement to Meet Conservation Needs

In Spain, Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows in the Mediterranean Sea are vital ecosystems that sustain marine biodiversity. Since 2024, Chery Group has partnered with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on the 'Cherish the Nature' initiative. In 2025, OMODA & JAECOO and the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN Med) launched a targeted collaboration in Cabo de Gata, Spain, to protect Posidonia oceanica and build coastal resilience.

Key actions include the installation of ecological mooring systems, the development of co-management agreements, and the introduction of blue financing mechanisms. The project also prioritizes education through awareness campaigns and training workshops for local associations.

Local engagement remains a core pillar of the initiative. From 2025 to 2026, the project facilitated journalist immersion workshops and beach clean-ups with the support of volunteers, partners, and staff. This multi-stakeholder effort is led by IUCN Med and OMODA & JAECOO, working alongside the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Sustainability and Environment, the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park management team, and the Hombre y Territorio Association(HyT).

In 2026, this partnership expands its scope. IUCN, Chery Group, and the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) jointly launched a two-year mangrove restoration project. With support from Chery Malaysia, OMODA, and JAECOO Malaysia, the partners will work to restore degraded mangrove ecosystems on the North-central Selangor Coast.

Protecting Communities Through Water Rescue and Disaster Relief

Social responsibility extends beyond the natural environment to practical support for public safety and community well-being. In June 2026, OMODA & JAECOO officially launched a partnership with Poland’s Water Volunteer Rescue Service (WOPR), handing over five specially equipped JAECOO 8 Super Hybrid vehicles on June 26 to support lifeguard patrols, the deployment of rescue personnel and emergency response operations. The partners are also working together to promote public education on water safety. By matching its vehicle technologies with the needs of professional rescue operations, the brand is providing tangible support for local public safety.

In Thailand, following severe flooding in the south of the country in late 2025, OMODA & JAECOO joined Chery Group in donating THB 1 million to the Thai Red Cross Society to support emergency relief and recovery in affected areas, particularly Hat Yai District in Songkhla Province. This practical response to local needs reflects the brand’s commitment to community well-being.

Investing in Education to Support the Next Generation

Social responsibility is about both present needs and opportunities for the next generation. Building on its initial contribution of US$ 6 million for 2023-2025, Chery Group has pledged an additional US$ 6 million to further support UNICEF’s education programmes, both globally and with dedicated support to China, Mexico, South Africa, Türkiye, Indonesia, and Viet Nam. In January 2026, OMODA & JAECOO announced this three-year education partnership with UNICEF Viet Nam under the “Empower Futures” initiative. The partnership focuses on inclusive and innovative education, digital, transferable and green skills development, adolescent mental health and well-being, and supporting young people's transition from school to employment.

The partnership places greater emphasis on sustained investment in education and capacity building than on short-term assistance. By bringing together UNICEF's expertise, local education authorities and the brand's support for innovation, it aims to expand access to learning and skills development, particularly for disadvantaged children and adolescents, helping prepare the next generation for a rapidly changing world.

Creating Lasting Social Value Through Global Responsibility and Collaboration

From championing marine conservation in Spain and Malaysia to providing water rescue support in Poland, and from advancing children’s education in Vietnam to delivering disaster relief in Thailand, OMODA & JAECOO is addressing the needs of different markets through a range of community initiatives, embedding social responsibility into its global development.

The same commitment to meaningful engagement and shared value will continue to shape the brand's global user relationships. From October 18 to 24, OMODA & JAECOO will host the 2026 OMODA & JAECOO International User Summit in Wuhu, China, bringing together users, media and ecosystem partners from around the world. The summit will provide a platform for global users and partners to exchange ideas, share experiences and explore new possibilities for co-creation across technology, mobility and lifestyles. From community initiatives around the world to closer collaboration within its global user ecosystem, OMODA & JAECOO will continue to work with local communities and global partners to create lasting social value as the brand grows.

Putting skin recovery at the heart of beauty care

Putting skin recovery at the heart of beauty care

Skin recovery took center stage at a gathering of dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons and aesthetic practitioners in Taguig City, where a discussion on barrier care connected skincare science with the experiences and professional interests of the medical community. Held on October 21 at the Intramuros Tent of Manila House Private Club in Bonifacio Global City, the roundtable discussion brought together the Pan Pacific Aesthetic Institute Foundation, Lamelex, Golden Visa Central and Manila House. Their collaboration provided a setting for scientific learning, professional exchange and conversations about opportunities beyond clinical practice. For the beauty discussion, the emphasis was on caring for the skin barrier, particularly after dermatologic and aesthetic procedures. Dr. Finesse Angelica Evangelista addressed this in her presentation, “The Science of Recovery: Optimizing Barrier Repair in Post-Procedure and Compromised Skin.” Her discussion underscored the importance of skin barrier integrity in supporting recovery. It also placed barrier-focused care within a professional conversation about the needs of skin following procedures or when its condition is compromised. That focus is central to Lamelex’s approach. The brand presented its multi-lamellar vesicle technology, a skincare delivery approach designed to support the skin’s natural barrier structure and ingredient delivery. Its professional skincare offerings combine formulations and protocols intended for barrier-focused care. The technology formed part of the brand’s showcase, which included professional skincare products, testers, merchandising and educational materials. These gave participants opportunities to explore its approach to skin barrier care alongside the scientific discussion. Medical professionals also received product kits for further exploration and evaluation in their respective practices. Catherine Andres-Gamo, chief executive officer of Pretty Skin Lamelin Philippines, expanded the conversation from products to advocacy. Sharing Lamelex’s commitment to scientific education, skincare innovation and collaboration with the medical community, she encouraged participants to become skin barrier advocates. Her message called for greater awareness of barrier-first skincare in clinical practice, linking the brand’s educational efforts with the professionals who assess and care for patients’ skin. The evening brought that advocacy into direct conversation with dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons and other aesthetic practitioners. The foundation, meanwhile, provided a platform for professional exchange within the aesthetic medical community. Manila House hosted the gathering, bringing professionals from different fields into a shared setting for learning and relationship building. Alongside the skincare discussions, Golden Visa Central founder and president Vicky Luis introduced international investment opportunities and wealth diversification. Her presentation offered participants perspectives on long-term financial planning beyond their clinical work, extending the evening’s scope to their broader professional and personal interests. The gathering linked these different areas through partnerships among the foundation’s leadership, Golden Visa Central, Manila House and the Lamelex team. Each contributed expertise to a forum that combined clinical interests with opportunities for professional growth. For Lamelex, the continuing direction is to build its community of skin barrier advocates through scientific education and continued collaboration with medical professionals. The roundtable provided one setting for that exchange, bringing its products, technology and barrier-care message to practitioners who could explore and evaluate them for use in their respective practices.

Jewelry for every side of a woman

Jewelry for every side of a woman

Jewelry passed from mother to daughter carries more than gemstones and gold. For designer Kristine Dee, it also holds the stories behind each piece, including her mother’s purchase to celebrate a hard-earned business deal. Those personal connections inspire “Modern Heirloom,” one of three chapters in “The Woman Within,” her collection exploring the different sides of a woman through fine jewelry. Its three chapters, “Modern Heirloom,” “Quiet Strength” and “Playful Femininity,” move from sentiment to assurance to joy. Each reflects a side of a woman that Dee has observed in her clients and herself. “They try out other styles which are not their usual, and the choice follows their emotions, what they felt at that time, how that particular jewelry piece made them feel when worn. Each capsule collection shows the different versions we, as women, find ourselves in.” For “Modern Heirloom,” Dee draws on her mother Elizabeth’s practice of passing jewelry to her daughters, along with the memories behind it. Among them is a piece Elizabeth bought after closing a business deal she had worked hard to secure. “It is not just the piece that she shared, but the story that comes with them,” Dee says. That sense of continuity takes shape in classic gemstones and versatile designs. Multicolored sapphire and diamond necklaces hang from substantial gold-ball chains. A pearl necklace features diamonds and a detachable kunzite centerpiece, allowing the wearer to move between dressier and more casual looks. “Quiet Strength” turns toward architecture, emphasizing line, proportion and structure. Smooth gold surfaces, curves and carefully placed diamonds give rings and cuffs their presence. Dee’s background in industrial design informs this attention to form and how a piece sits on the body. “Each millimeter matters,” she says. A softer mood emerges in “Playful Femininity.” Mint tourmaline, pink spinel and diamonds appear in linked elements that sway with the wearer, while a coordinating ring allows for stacking. Elsewhere, a hand-carved mother-of-pearl ribbon flows into waves of rubies and diamonds. Across the collection, gemstones are set in 14-karat and 18-karat white, yellow and rose gold. Many designs bear the names of loyal clients, relatives and friends, extending the personal connections behind the jewelry. For Dee, their place is in everyday wardrobes. Statement necklaces can accompany a tank top and jeans or a dress, while rings and cuffs can be layered to suit the day. “The best way to style fine jewelry for a woman is based on her lifestyle and personality, so she can reach for them day after day, comfortably and confidently, and wear them in more ways than one.” The collection is available at the Kristine Dee showroom in BGC, Taguig City, with resizing and customization offered. A Power Plant Mall pop-up runs from Nov. 7 to Jan. 28, 2027, bringing the collection’s expressions of memory, strength and joy into women’s daily choices.
