FinanceFeeds Highlights Instant Payments, Orchestration and Workflow Integration as the Next Phase of Payments Infrastructure

Oct 23, 2026

FinanceFeeds is focusing coverage on how payment providers, e-money institutions and merchants are adapting to instant payment requirements, expanding payment method coverage and integrating payments into business finance workflows.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 23, 2026 -- FinanceFeeds, an independent financial news and analysis platform serving professionals across trading, fintech, payments and financial services, is highlighting the changing priorities of payments infrastructure as speed, coverage and integration become standard expectations rather than competitive advantages.

For much of the past decade, payment companies differentiated themselves on a familiar set of measures: how quickly money arrived, how much a transfer cost and how many countries a provider could reach. Those measures still matter. But as real-time payment systems spread, application programming interfaces simplify integration and customers become accustomed to near-instant transactions, the competitive focus is moving to what happens around the payment itself.

Instant Payments Reach the Core Platform

In Europe, regulation is accelerating that shift. Under the EU Instant Payments Regulation, electronic money institutions and payment institutions in the euro area must be able to receive and send instant euro credit transfers by 9 April 2027, while those outside the euro area must be able to receive by the same date and send by 9 July 2027.

FinanceFeeds has examined why the challenge for many firms is not simply connecting to a payment scheme. In its analysis of how EMIs face an April 2027 instant payments deadline, the publication looked at the work that sits inside a firm’s own platform: ledgers that must update in real time, customer channels that must operate around the clock, and sanctions screening and fraud controls that must work within the ten-second window the regulation requires.

That distinction is important for the many smaller payment and e-money firms that may have planned instant payments as a connectivity project. If account balances, notifications, limits and compliance checks were designed for batch processing, the move to instant can expose bottlenecks well beyond the payment rail itself. Firms that start late may find that the most time-consuming work is not the scheme connection but the changes to the systems surrounding it.

Customer experience is affected too. When a payment is instant, there is little time to correct a mistake, which places greater emphasis on clear confirmation screens, effective fraud warnings and checks on who is being paid. The regulation also requires providers to offer a service that verifies whether the payee’s name matches the account identifier, an obligation that touches customer journeys as well as back-end systems.

More Payment Methods, More Operational Complexity

Merchants face a related challenge. Consumer expectations vary widely by country, age group and type of purchase. A customer may prefer a card, a digital wallet, a QR code, a bank transfer, a pay-by-link option or a domestic payment scheme. Supporting those preferences can increase conversion, but every additional method brings integration, reconciliation, refund handling and compliance work.

Payment orchestration platforms aim to absorb that complexity behind a single connection. FinanceFeeds reported on how TNS added more than 100 payment methods to its orchestration platform, with a particular focus on unattended environments such as parking meters, vending machines and self-service kiosks, where a declined or unsupported payment usually means a lost sale rather than a conversation at the counter.

The publication’s coverage also considers the trade-offs. A single platform can simplify deployment for merchants with many locations, but it can also concentrate dependence on one provider. Businesses evaluating orchestration services need to understand routing logic, outage handling, settlement reporting and how easily they could change providers in the future.

Business Payments Move Into Finance Workflows

The most significant shift may be taking place in business-to-business payments. For a corporate finance team, a payment is not a single event. It begins with an invoice that must be created, approved and sent, and it ends only when the funds have been matched to the correct invoice, recorded in the accounts and reflected in the company’s cash position.

FinanceFeeds explored this theme in its analysis of why moving money is now the easy part of B2B payments. A payment can settle in seconds yet still sit inside a workflow that takes days because of manual invoicing, disconnected systems and reconciliation work. As settlement speeds improve, the remaining friction becomes more visible, and more commercially valuable to solve.

This is encouraging payment providers to expand into accounts payable and receivable automation, treasury tools, reconciliation services and integrations with accounting software. The providers that succeed may be those that reduce the operational work required before and after a payment, not only those that move money fastest.

Cross-border business payments add another layer. Companies paying suppliers or collecting from customers in other countries must manage currency conversion, differing payment formats, compliance checks and varying settlement times. Greater transparency on fees and exchange rates, together with structured data that travels with each payment, can significantly reduce the time finance teams spend investigating and reconciling international transactions.

What FinanceFeeds Will Be Following

FinanceFeeds will continue reporting on the payments industry across banks, payment institutions, e-money firms, card networks, acquirers, orchestration platforms and business payment providers. Areas of focus include regulatory deadlines and their operational impact, the economics of payment acceptance, fraud and sanctions controls in real-time environments, cross-border business payments and the integration of payments into financial software.

The publication’s approach is to look beyond product announcements and examine how new capabilities perform in regulated environments: what a firm must change internally, which risks are introduced, how customers are affected and where competitive advantage is likely to come from as the basic mechanics of payments become faster and more widely available.

The publication also examines the commercial side of payments: how providers price their services, how pressure on transaction fees is changing business models and how firms are diversifying revenue through card issuing, foreign exchange, interest income and software. These factors increasingly shape which payment companies can afford to invest in the infrastructure their customers expect.

As instant payments become standard and payment methods continue to multiply, FinanceFeeds expects the industry conversation to focus increasingly on reliability, integration and control, the elements that determine whether faster payments translate into better outcomes for businesses and consumers.

One-stop shop for PH products gets designer-led update

Filipino craftsmanship and creativity was on full display at the launch on Thursday of Kultura Atelier at SM Makati. The one-stop shop of the country’s largest department store chain is known for its wide range of Philippine-made products ranging from comestibles to clothes.  It is also a favorite shopping destination of returning Filipinos who want to take a piece of home back to their country of work. Many tourists also make a beeline to Kultura for souvenirs of their time in the tropics.  With the opening of Kultura Atelier, shoppers now have more options when an event calls for elevated Filipiniana. At the mini fashion show to mark the launch last week, the designers who were tapped to join Kultura’s roster presented pieces from their collection now available in store.  Daryl Maat showed updates to his playful redesign of the short-sleeved barong. Instead of traditional scrollwork or geometric designs, Maat’s features kid-style line drawings stitched in colored embroidery thread. Former professional model Alvin Degamo of Wear Your Culture was wearing one of his own pieces that afternoon, a denim jacket with fabric insets featuring embroidery inspired by the Manobos of Mindanao. He said his pieces are limited because it takes time for the weavers to finish a panel and send it to him.  Degamo then sends the panel to Lumban, Laguna to be embroidered by sewers he has long worked with. “I want to give the pieces from Wear Your Culture something more. Rather than use a woven panel as is, I have it embroidered or hand painted so the finished product stands out from others like it,” Degamo said.  Veteran Cebu-based designer Phillip Rodriguez has also thrown his hat into the retail shopping ring with Isla by Filippo. His elegant pieces shown that afternoon included a red terno ensemble with fabric that featured a solihya-like pattern.  Rodriguez also presented two black barong Tagalog that looked sleek and had a slimming effect.  Other brands and designers that are now part of Kultura Atelier include Fam Ph, Goodluck Humans, Harold and Harry, Jo-Rel Espina, Ken Samudio, Martin Uy, Rodolfo by Puey Quinones, Sari Lazaro, Tim Tam Ong and Zarah Juan. The festivities that afternoon extended beyond the runway with a perfume bar by Tadhana Fragrance, and jewelry customization by Nazrea Pearls. Kultura Atelier and Kultura at SM Makati still share the same space but the former  consists mainly of designer apparel and fashion accessories while the latter carries home decor and food items. In praise of the coconut There are dozens of food and decorative items for sale this weekend at the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) National Trade Fair. This time the coconut is in the spotlight with a wide range of food items ranging from coconut leaf-wrapped suman and extra virgin coconut oil to beaded hanging lamps and Christmas decor made of the tree’s different elements.  As the second coconut-focused trade fair this year, the initiative highlights the versatility of the Philippine coconut industry through innovative products in food, wellness, beauty, textiles, home essentials and handicrafts. The fair is open free to the public until Sunday and is a good place to jumpstart Christmas shopping.  Beyond showcasing local ingenuity, however, the fair opens doors for MSMEs and coconut farmer-beneficiaries to connect with institutional buyers, retailers and consumers, expanding their market reach and business opportunities.

Five decades of healthcare excellence, compassion and service

An evening of elegance, gratitude and celebration unfolded at The Cove at Okada Manila as Perpetual Help Medical Center–Las Piñas marked its 50th anniversary. The hospital marked five decades of dedicated health care, compassionate service and a lasting commitment to providing quality medical care through its enduring mission, “Alagang Perpetual.” The celebration brought together distinguished guests, health care professionals, awardees and friends of the institution for a memorable evening that paid tribute to the people whose dedication and achievements have helped shape the medical center’s legacy. It was not only a celebration of the institution’s golden milestone but also a recognition of the people behind its continued success. Hosted by beauty queen Ganiel Krishnan, the occasion was graced by personalities including Alice Dixson, Joey Generoso of the band Side A, Mags Cue and reigning Miss Universe Philippines Bea Milan Windorski. Their presence added glamour to an evening that blended prestige, appreciation and celebration. Guests enjoyed an elegant dining experience at The Cove, with a choice of beef or salmon prepared for the occasion. The evening also marked the birthday of Antonio Tamayo, who was surrounded by family, friends and distinguished guests. The tribute added a personal dimension to the festivities, bringing together two meaningful occasions: a golden anniversary celebrating a legacy of service and a birthday honoring a respected figure whose presence made the gathering even more significant. More than a milestone celebration, the medical center’s 50th anniversary paid tribute to a legacy built on dedication, compassion and the enduring value of service. It was a golden occasion where legacy, family and service came together in a memorable celebration. “Alagang Perpetual” — 50 years of caring, serving and making a difference.
