Celeste M. Blake Announces Culturally Grounded Self-Care Resources for Black Women Through Grown Black Glorious

Oct 19, 2026

Grown Black Glorious, founded by Celeste M. Blake, introduces culturally grounded self-care resources that help Black women prioritize restoration, boundaries, and intentional living.

United States, October 19, 2026 -- Grown Black Glorious, founded by Afro-Caribbean author and wellness advocate Celeste M. Blake, is building a collection of culturally grounded resources designed to support Black women navigating midlife, caregiving responsibilities, personal transitions, and the often overlooked emotional demands of being relied upon by others. Through books, journals, and wellness resources, the brand encourages a more intentional understanding of strength, one that includes rest, personal boundaries, self-reflection, and the preservation of individual identity.

The initiative reflects Celeste M. Celeste M. Blake's experience with the expectations frequently placed on women who serve as dependable sources of guidance and support within their families and communities. Her work examines how responsibility can gradually become an identity, leaving little room for women to acknowledge their own needs or reconsider the roles they have carried for years.

At the center of Grown Black Glorious is a straightforward principle: caring for others and caring for oneself do not have to be opposing priorities. The brand seeks to create space for Black women to recognize their accomplishments, understand their emotional experiences, and develop sustainable approaches to personal well-being without disconnecting from their cultural heritage.

Rather than presenting self-care as a universal formula, Grown Black Glorious emphasizes the importance of understanding the circumstances, traditions, and expectations that influence how women experience responsibility and restoration.

A Personal Journey From Endurance to Intentional Living

Celeste M. Blake's approach to wellness developed through years of supporting others in advisory and support-focused environments. In these roles, she gained an understanding of the emotional demands associated with being the person others turn to for guidance, practical assistance, and stability.

Her Afro-Caribbean background also influenced her understanding of family, community, perseverance, and loyalty. These values remain central to her perspective, but her personal journey led her to examine how the expectation to remain dependable can sometimes make it difficult to recognize exhaustion or establish boundaries.

For many women, the ability to manage competing responsibilities becomes an expectation rather than a choice. The habit of adjusting to other people's needs can become so familiar that personal priorities are repeatedly postponed. Over time, this pattern may leave little opportunity for reflection or for developing a sense of identity outside caregiving and responsibility.

Celeste M. Blake's work addresses this experience without dismissing the positive aspects of cultural traditions or the meaningful relationships that shape women's lives. Instead, Grown Black Glorious encourages women to preserve the values they cherish while reconsidering expectations that may no longer serve their well-being.

The brand's philosophy recognizes that strength can include discernment, the ability to identify what deserves attention, and the willingness to establish limits. Rest and self-preservation are presented as meaningful parts of an intentional life rather than signs of weakness or a lack of commitment to others.

This perspective informs the brand's educational and reflective resources, which are designed to help women approach personal growth with greater awareness and a practical framework for change.

Self-Care Journals Designed With Black Women Over 40 in Mind

One of the central offerings associated with Grown Black Glorious is the Self-Care Journals Bundle for Black Women 40+. The resource grew from Celeste M. Blake's desire to find structured self-care materials that acknowledged the cultural and personal realities influencing the lives of Black women.

The journals are intended to provide a dedicated space for reflection, helping women consider their needs, responsibilities, boundaries, and evolving identities. Their focus aligns with the brand's broader mission of making self-care more relevant to women whose lives may include extensive family obligations, caregiving, professional responsibilities, and years of putting others first.

The emphasis on women over 40 also reflects a stage of life when priorities and personal circumstances may change. Women may find themselves reassessing established roles, considering new goals, or seeking a more balanced relationship between supporting others and maintaining their own sense of purpose.

By incorporating cultural understanding into its approach, Grown Black Glorious aims to offer resources that acknowledge the context behind these experiences. The brand does not frame cultural identity as an obstacle to overcome. Instead, it treats heritage as an important part of the individual perspective that informs personal growth.

An Authorial Approach Rooted in Cultural Understanding

Celeste M. Blake is the author of Grown, Black, Glorious, Healing in Her Prime, Caregiver, But Still Me, and the Partnership Blueprint series. Her work combines lived experience, research-informed insights, and cultural awareness to address personal growth, caregiving, relationships, and changing identities.

Through her books and wellness resources, Celeste M. Blake encourages Black women to recognize their needs, establish boundaries, and practice intentional self-care. The resources support personal reflection and everyday well-being without replacing professional mental health care.

Redefining Strength Without Abandoning Cultural Roots

A defining element of Grown Black Glorious is its effort to expand how strength is understood within conversations about Black women's well-being. The brand acknowledges the perseverance, resourcefulness, and commitment that have helped many women navigate demanding circumstances. At the same time, it challenges the assumption that strength requires continuous sacrifice.

This distinction is particularly relevant to women who have spent years balancing family expectations, emotional labor, and responsibilities that may not always be formally recognized. The work of supporting others can be meaningful, but it can also leave personal needs unaddressed when there is little room to pause.

Grown Black Glorious presents an alternative that does not require women to abandon their relationships or cultural values. It encourages them to consider how boundaries, rest, and self-awareness can coexist with loyalty, compassion, and community involvement.

The philosophy is captured in a central statement from the brand: “A strong Black woman can love and care for others deeply without abandoning herself in the process.”

That principle connects the brand's personal story with its broader collection of resources. It positions self-care as an ongoing practice of intentional living rather than a temporary response to exhaustion.

As Grown Black Glorious continues to develop its presence, its work centers on helping Black women recognize that their identities extend beyond what they provide to others. Through culturally informed writing and structured reflection tools, Celeste M. Blake is creating resources for women who want to preserve the strengths that have shaped their lives while making room for their own restoration.

Putting skin recovery at the heart of beauty care

Putting skin recovery at the heart of beauty care

Skin recovery took center stage at a gathering of dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons and aesthetic practitioners in Taguig City, where a discussion on barrier care connected skincare science with the experiences and professional interests of the medical community. Held on October 21 at the Intramuros Tent of Manila House Private Club in Bonifacio Global City, the roundtable discussion brought together the Pan Pacific Aesthetic Institute Foundation, Lamelex, Golden Visa Central and Manila House. Their collaboration provided a setting for scientific learning, professional exchange and conversations about opportunities beyond clinical practice. For the beauty discussion, the emphasis was on caring for the skin barrier, particularly after dermatologic and aesthetic procedures. Dr. Finesse Angelica Evangelista addressed this in her presentation, “The Science of Recovery: Optimizing Barrier Repair in Post-Procedure and Compromised Skin.” Her discussion underscored the importance of skin barrier integrity in supporting recovery. It also placed barrier-focused care within a professional conversation about the needs of skin following procedures or when its condition is compromised. That focus is central to Lamelex’s approach. The brand presented its multi-lamellar vesicle technology, a skincare delivery approach designed to support the skin’s natural barrier structure and ingredient delivery. Its professional skincare offerings combine formulations and protocols intended for barrier-focused care. The technology formed part of the brand’s showcase, which included professional skincare products, testers, merchandising and educational materials. These gave participants opportunities to explore its approach to skin barrier care alongside the scientific discussion. Medical professionals also received product kits for further exploration and evaluation in their respective practices. Catherine Andres-Gamo, chief executive officer of Pretty Skin Lamelin Philippines, expanded the conversation from products to advocacy. Sharing Lamelex’s commitment to scientific education, skincare innovation and collaboration with the medical community, she encouraged participants to become skin barrier advocates. Her message called for greater awareness of barrier-first skincare in clinical practice, linking the brand’s educational efforts with the professionals who assess and care for patients’ skin. The evening brought that advocacy into direct conversation with dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons and other aesthetic practitioners. The foundation, meanwhile, provided a platform for professional exchange within the aesthetic medical community. Manila House hosted the gathering, bringing professionals from different fields into a shared setting for learning and relationship building. Alongside the skincare discussions, Golden Visa Central founder and president Vicky Luis introduced international investment opportunities and wealth diversification. Her presentation offered participants perspectives on long-term financial planning beyond their clinical work, extending the evening’s scope to their broader professional and personal interests. The gathering linked these different areas through partnerships among the foundation’s leadership, Golden Visa Central, Manila House and the Lamelex team. Each contributed expertise to a forum that combined clinical interests with opportunities for professional growth. For Lamelex, the continuing direction is to build its community of skin barrier advocates through scientific education and continued collaboration with medical professionals. The roundtable provided one setting for that exchange, bringing its products, technology and barrier-care message to practitioners who could explore and evaluate them for use in their respective practices.

Jewelry for every side of a woman

Jewelry for every side of a woman

Jewelry passed from mother to daughter carries more than gemstones and gold. For designer Kristine Dee, it also holds the stories behind each piece, including her mother’s purchase to celebrate a hard-earned business deal. Those personal connections inspire “Modern Heirloom,” one of three chapters in “The Woman Within,” her collection exploring the different sides of a woman through fine jewelry. Its three chapters, “Modern Heirloom,” “Quiet Strength” and “Playful Femininity,” move from sentiment to assurance to joy. Each reflects a side of a woman that Dee has observed in her clients and herself. “They try out other styles which are not their usual, and the choice follows their emotions, what they felt at that time, how that particular jewelry piece made them feel when worn. Each capsule collection shows the different versions we, as women, find ourselves in.” For “Modern Heirloom,” Dee draws on her mother Elizabeth’s practice of passing jewelry to her daughters, along with the memories behind it. Among them is a piece Elizabeth bought after closing a business deal she had worked hard to secure. “It is not just the piece that she shared, but the story that comes with them,” Dee says. That sense of continuity takes shape in classic gemstones and versatile designs. Multicolored sapphire and diamond necklaces hang from substantial gold-ball chains. A pearl necklace features diamonds and a detachable kunzite centerpiece, allowing the wearer to move between dressier and more casual looks. “Quiet Strength” turns toward architecture, emphasizing line, proportion and structure. Smooth gold surfaces, curves and carefully placed diamonds give rings and cuffs their presence. Dee’s background in industrial design informs this attention to form and how a piece sits on the body. “Each millimeter matters,” she says. A softer mood emerges in “Playful Femininity.” Mint tourmaline, pink spinel and diamonds appear in linked elements that sway with the wearer, while a coordinating ring allows for stacking. Elsewhere, a hand-carved mother-of-pearl ribbon flows into waves of rubies and diamonds. Across the collection, gemstones are set in 14-karat and 18-karat white, yellow and rose gold. Many designs bear the names of loyal clients, relatives and friends, extending the personal connections behind the jewelry. For Dee, their place is in everyday wardrobes. Statement necklaces can accompany a tank top and jeans or a dress, while rings and cuffs can be layered to suit the day. “The best way to style fine jewelry for a woman is based on her lifestyle and personality, so she can reach for them day after day, comfortably and confidently, and wear them in more ways than one.” The collection is available at the Kristine Dee showroom in BGC, Taguig City, with resizing and customization offered. A Power Plant Mall pop-up runs from Nov. 7 to Jan. 28, 2027, bringing the collection’s expressions of memory, strength and joy into women’s daily choices.
